Rapeseed oil is the only oft-used culinary oil widely grown and bottled here in the UK. Other vegetable oils, like olive and sunflower, are mostly imported.

cold pressed rapeseed oil
It’s no slouch when it comes to fat, either: cold pressed rapeseed oil has what’s known as a beneficial fat profile. It contains less saturated fat than other commonly used cooking oils and fats (e.g. 50% less than olive oil).
Too much fat in our diets, especially saturated fats, can raise our cholesterol, which increases the risk of heart disease. The government currently advises that we should be cutting down on all fats and replacing saturated fat in our diets with some unsaturated fat, like cold pressed rapeseed oil. So, if you’re looking for a way to ditch saturated fat, cold-pressed rapeseed oil is a good option. Cold pressed rapeseed oil contains no trans fats.
Unsaturated fat can be either mono-unsaturated or poly-unsaturated. It contains the essential fatty acids: omega 3, 6, and 9. Cold-pressed rapeseed oil is a good source of exactly this!

sunshine in a bottle
Like fine wine, flavours will vary and each producer will have their own unique cold-pressed rapeseed oil thanks to different types of soil, weather and farming methods.
We think Yallo has a subtle nutty deliciousness that’s just as good in its purest form (contributing a delicate something extra, flavour-wise, to salad dressings and dips, not to mention it’s sheen of golden sunshine) as it is when used for roasting and frying. It can even be used for baking in place of butter, reducing the saturated fat content of even the most luxurious of treats.
